Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager – BDM & Ocean Freight Forwarding to lead business development, sales, and operational activities at CHYOWE – Lucas Nona Private Limited, Chennai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ocean freight forwarding, account management, and team leadership, with a proven ability to drive revenue growth, ensure profitability, and maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Roles & Responsibilities

Drive business development and achieve sales and revenue targets for ocean freight services.
Develop new customers and expand existing FCL & LCL ocean freight accounts.
Oversee import & export ocean freight operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service agreements with customers, shipping lines, and overseas agents.
Manage and strengthen relationships with key customers, shipping lines, and overseas partners.
Lead, mentor, and guide BDM, sales, and operations teams to achieve organizational goals.
Monitor costs, profitability, billing, and collections while resolving operational issues and ensuring compliance with trade regulations and company SOPs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in ocean freight forwarding, business development, and team management.
Strong understanding of freight operations, account management, and commercial contracts.
Proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, and financial/operational analysis tools.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
